The public libraries of Lyon are open from Tuesday to Saturday except during school holidays and public holidays.

All libraries in the network are closed on national holidays. To find out about closure on ’bridging days’ (days between national holidays and weekends) or additional weeks, see below and check the pages for individual libraries:

  • Wednesday 1st May: Workers’ Day
  • Wednesday 8th May: 1945 Victory
  • Thursday 30th May: Ascension
  • Sunday 14th July: Bastille Day
  • Thursday 15th August: Assumption
  • Friday 1st November: All Saints
  • Wednesday 25th December: Christmas
  • Wednesday 1st January 2020: New Year’s Day
