In Lyon’s fifteen libraries, people can freely access all the documents and electronic resources free of charge.

Certain documents can only be consulted upon submission of proof of identity:

the documents kept in the modern silo
audio-visual media
rare and precious documents in the Heritage Collection (authorisation from the collection manager is essential)
Legal deposit documents
Regional documents kept in the silo
